Conductor – copper, multi-wire, round-shaped, class 5 according to DSTU EN 60228:2015. The number of conductors ranges from 1 to 5 pcs., with cross-sections from 1 mm² to 240 mm².
Insulation – made of thermoplastic elastomer.
Twist – insulated conductors twisted together.
Sheath – made of thermoplastic elastomer.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Operating temperature range of cables from minus 40 °С to 50 °С;
Cables are resistant to relative humidity up to 98% at an ambient temperature of 35 °С;
Cables are resistant to solar radiation;
Tensile force on the cable must not exceed 19.6 N (2.0 kgf) per 1 mm² of the total cross-section of all conductors;
Standard delivery length of cables: not less than 100 m;
Warranty service life of power cables is set at 6 months from the date of commissioning, but not later than 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Service life of cables is at least 4 years;
Service life of cables under stationary laying is at least 10 years.

APPLICATION

The main purpose of the KG cable brand is to connect portable tools and mobile electrical devices to the power supply network at a nominal alternating voltage of 660 V with a frequency up to 400 Hz, or nominal direct voltage of 1000 V.
It can be used:

in indoor premises;
on sites under a canopy;
on ship decks;
for connecting power tools;
for devices connecting to “ground” and electrode holders of welding machines;
for portable generators;
for other industrial and household mobile electrical devices;

Usually the cable is laid on the ground or on the surface of asphalt or concrete sites. The cable is removed after the completion of works.

The softness of the thermoplastic elastomer, which makes the cable insulation resistant to bending, may cause its destruction due to mechanical action.
There are restrictions on the use of KG brand cables – they cannot be used as stationary underground laying or in lifting and transport equipment.
This is due to the fact that its insulation is very sensitive to mechanical loads.
For example, a vehicle passing over it or a heavy object falling on the wire may disable it.
Such impacts are very critical for multi-wire products, especially those without external protection.
The presence of external protection enhances the protective properties of the cable.
Rainwater and dirt do not affect the performance of products with flexible insulation and sheath made of thermoplastic elastomer.

Installation and Operation Guidelines

Installation, operation and repair of cables are carried out in accordance with current “Rules for Electrical Installations”, “Rules for Technical Operation and Safety Rules for the Operation of Consumer Electrical Installations”.
Laying and installation of cables without preliminary heating is carried out at temperatures not lower than minus 30 °С;
Tensile force on the cable must not exceed 19.6 N (2.0 kgf) per 1 mm² of the total cross-section of all conductors;
It is not recommended during installation and operation to drag the cable along any surface using mechanisms;
It is allowed during installation and operation to move the cable using mechanisms with devices preventing damage to the cable;
Bending radius during installation and operation not less than 8 outer diameters of the cable;
During operation, exceeding the working temperature on conductors above 75 °С is not allowed;
It is necessary to monitor the condition of the sheath and insulation, avoid excessive tension and twisting.

Transportation and Storage

Transportation and storage of cables must comply with DSTU EN 50525 requirements. Storage is allowed in closed dry rooms at temperatures from minus 50 °С to 50 °С and relative humidity not more than 80 % at 25 °С, the cable must be protected from direct sunlight, oils, acids, alkalis and mechanical damage.
Recommended storage period of cables in the manufacturer’s packaging is no more than 1 year.
