The variety of cable products allows you to choose the best option for any purpose and operating conditions. First, it is necessary to check the labeling. One of the most popular types is the PVSng-LS connecting wire.
The abbreviation gives complete information about the main properties of the product:

  • P - wire;
  • V - vinyl or PVC, insulation materials. These polymers are dielectric, meaning they do not conduct electricity;
  • S - connecting;
  • ng - non-flammable (does not spread flame in case of accidental burning);
  • LS (Low Smoke) or ngd - non-flammable and low-smoke (with reduced smoke and gas emissions).

CONSTRUCTION

  1. Conductor — copper, stranded, 5th class flexibility according to DSTU EN 60228.
  2. Insulation — made of PVC compound of various colors, in PVSng-LS (ngd) wires with low-fire-hazard PVC compound.
    Conductor insulation color:
    • 2 conductors without grounding - blue, brown;
    • 3 conductors with grounding - yellow-green, blue, brown. Without grounding - blue, black, brown;
    • 4 conductors with grounding - yellow-green, blue, brown. Without grounding - blue, black, brown;
    • 5 conductors with grounding - yellow-green, blue, brown. Without grounding - blue, black, brown.
  3. Twisting — insulated conductors are twisted without a filler. Insulated conductors of five-conductor cables may be twisted around a core.
  4. Sheath — made of PVC compound, applied with filling the gaps between the conductors, giving the cable a round shape. The sheath can be white, blue, yellow, green, brown, gray, red, blue, black, or orange. Upon customer request, according to TU U 27.3-33527835-002:2014, it is possible to manufacture cables with a conductor cross-section up to 12 mm² inclusive.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Operating temperature of the environment:

  • for cables in execution U from -40°C to +40°C;
  • for cables in other executions from -25°C to +40°C.

The permissible long-term temperature of conductor heating during operation is +70°C.
The nominal current load depends on the conductor cross-section:

The cables withstand voltage testing for 15 minutes after being immersed in water at (20±5)°C for 1 hour at 2000V, 50 Hz.
The lifespan of the cables is measured by their resistance to alternating bending deformations at nominal voltage, at least 30000 (60000) cycles.
Nominal tensile force:

  • for cables with a cross-section of 0.75 and 1.0 mm² with roller diameters of 80 mm - 9.8 N;
  • for cables with a cross-section of 1.5 and 2.5 mm² with roller diameters of 120 mm - 14.7 N.

Established failure-free operation:

  • not less than 5000 hours;
  • for cables used in stationary electrical appliances, not less than 12000 hours.

The construction length of the cable is not less than 50 meters.
Warranty period of operation – 2 years from the date of commissioning.
Service life of cables – not less than 6 years.
Service life of cables used in stationary electrical appliances – not less than 10 years.

APPLICATION

For connecting electrical appliances and tools for home care and repair, washing machines, refrigerators, small mechanization tools for gardening and horticulture, and other similar devices, as well as for making extension cords, with a voltage of up to 380V for systems 380/660V.
